What a Blessing!!!

Because this coming Sunday, October 19th, is World Missions Sunday, The Catholic Times Newspaper focus’ on several missions that profoundly affect people’s lives.

We are so pleased to announce that in the October 12th issue, we had the opportunity to write about our mission to the Rach Suc community in Can Tho, Vietnam.

World Mission Sunday, organized by the Propagation of the Faith, is a day set aside for Catholics worldwide to recommit themselves to the Church’s missionary activity through prayer and sacrifice… As described by Saint Pope John Paul II, World Mission Sunday is “an important day in the life of the Church because it teaches how to give: as an offering made to God, in the Eucharistic celebration and for all the missions of the world” (see Redemptoris Missio 81).”

Also in this week’s edition, the article that caught my eye was, The Evangelization of the World Depends on the Obedience of Christians, by Missions Director Leandro Tapay. He writes, “Let us be always mindful that God is a God of missions. God wills missions. God commands missions. God demands missions. God made mission possible through His Son. The spirit of Christ is the spirit of missions. The nearer we get to Him, the more intensely missionary we become.”

The proceeds of the special collection taken this coming Sunday will be distributed – in Pope Francis’ name – among the missions and missionaries worldwide.

Please consider a generous gift in this Sunday’s Special Collection.

God Bless
